We all have moments when creativity flows effortlessly, but achieving that flow state can sometimes be a challenge. At RAIN, we believe that setting the right conditions can help you tap into your innate flow more easily. Here are five steps from RAIN's Chief Impact Officer and entrepreneur, Hannah Phang, to help you get into your flow state and unlock your full potential.
1. Remove Distractions
Start by clearing your environment of any distractions. This means tidying up clutter, turning off notifications on your devices, and setting boundaries to ensure uninterrupted time. A serene and organized space is the first step towards a focused and productive mind.
2. Move Your Body
Before diving into your creative work, take a moment to move your body. Whether it's a walk in nature, a quick yoga session, or some light stretching, physical activity helps bring you into the present moment. Movement boosts your mood and prepares your mind for deep, creative thinking.
3. Set the Scene
Creating the right environment is crucial for entering your flow state. Light a soothing candle, choose your favourite music, and arrange your workspace to reflect a calm and inspiring atmosphere. The right ambiance can significantly enhance your ability to concentrate and create.
4. Get Inspiration
Sometimes we need a little spark to ignite our creativity. Take time to gather inspiration by reading a book, exploring Pinterest or Cosmos. Surrounding yourself with inspiring visuals and ideas can stimulate your mind and fuel your creative energy.
5. Start with Free Writing
Getting started can often be the hardest part. Take the pressure off by beginning with free writing or free creating. Allow your thoughts to flow without judgment or constraints. This practice not only helps overcome initial resistance but also leads you naturally into your flow state.
To support your flow, add two capsules of our Flow State Mushrooms into your morning ritual to get into this state effortlessly.
